FD Group, an Engineering & Design consulting company operating throughout Italy and Europe, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its team:
Duties
- 3D design of mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Creo)
- Creation of 2D technical drawings and manufacturing drafts according to ISO/ASME standards
- Development and management of BOMs and related technical documentation
- Feasibility analysis in collaboration with R&D, production teams, and suppliers
- Execution of tolerance studies, fits analysis, and basic mechanical calculations (FEM optional)
- Participation in design reviews, testing, prototyping, and technical validation
- Support to production and product industrialization
- Management of design changes and Engineering Change Management processes
Requirements
- Proficiency in at least two of the following 3D CAD tools:
- SolidWorks (preferably for general mechanics/automation machinery)
- Siemens NX (preferably for automotive/aerospace sectors)
- PTC Creo (preferably in structured industrial environments)
- Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes and technologies (CNC machining, molding, welding, assembly)
- Strong ability to read and create technical drawings and apply GD&T standards
- Basic knowledge of metallic and plastic materials
- Familiarity with technical documentation and BOM management tools (PDM/PLM)
